The story
How English Fish and Chips came to be
We opened on Burnett Street in 1990, after Ray and I came out from Hull with two suitcases and a fryer we could not bring through customs. Thirty-six years later our son David runs the fryers and I still do the peas. Everything is cut and battered here on the day — the cod is line-caught, the chips are Sebago, and we fry in beef dripping because that is how it is meant to taste. There are twenty-four seats in the back room if you would rather sit down, and you are welcome to bring your own bottle.

You deal with the same people every time — no call centres, no runaround. Just honest work from a team that lives where you do.
